I HAVE JUST INSTALLED CCTV ON MY HOME. I AM ASKING FOR ADVICE REALLY. THE MOTION DETECTOR AREA, THAT TRIGGERS RECORDING, IS SET ON AN AREA THAT PEOPLE USE MAINLY. WHEN THE CAR IS ON THE DRIVEWAY, THAT IS THE ONLY WAY THAT PEOPLE CAN GET ACCESS TO THE PROPERTY. HOWEVER WHEN THE CAR ISN’T ON THE DRIVEWAY, THERE ARE AREAS THAT A CRIMINAL COULD GET ACCESS TO THE PROPERTY UNDETECTED. DO YOU THINK THAT A CRIMINAL WOULD WALK THROUGH THE MOTION DETECTOR AREA ANYWAY. THE DETECTION AREA COVERS HALF OF THE DRIVEWAY, SO DO YOU THINK THE CRIMINAL WOULD TRIGGER THE SYSTEM WITHOUT HIM KNOWING IT.
PS – THE SYSTEM DID CONVICT A CRIMINAL JUST 3 DAYS AGO. HE TRIGGERED THE SYSTEM WITHOUT HIM KNOWING IT. HE WAS QUITE SHOCKED TO SEE WE HAD CCTV FOOTAGE OF HIM ACTUALLY KEY-ING OUR CAR. IT WAS OUR NEIGHBOUR BY THE WAY.

Its not possible to predict where a person would walk unless they are aware of your cctv system. Is it not possible to adjust the coverage area of the sensor or add an extra sensor if thats possible with your system.

if your neighbours are ver mad at you and now realize you have CCTV in that location they may try and get back at you in a different location where you do not have a camera

Just because he/she is in the "trigger" area doesn’t make a criminal. Lucky your neighbor didn’t have a hoody on. You can add extra cameras and detectors, if your system is compatible, sure.
