If you are talking about home security you can get one from radio shack or wal mart.I have both.You just need to hook the camera to a 4 head vcr and select slow or extended mode. Get a 9hr vhs tape and you will be set. I have used mine about 5yr now References :

HD for home security? over kill? do you have a HD TV?
HD cams have 5 time the defination so focus is critical, the view finders are always black and white for clarity – HD for home security makes no sence
Sony are the world leaders in HD, hence 90% of TV cameras are sony’s. So a sony HD, or Panasonic will do the job.
Closed circuit means its by cable and not broadcast, so buy the appropriate leads/cables and its closed circuit.
